Wearing knee pads when working out does protect your joints, but what do you mean when you wear them to frog hop?

Knee pads are, as the name suggests, "Knee protection", but of course, today i'm not talking about the warm knee pads you wear in winter or the sports knee pads you wear to protect your knees when climbing, but the fitness knee pads you wear when working out.

Since knee pads protect the body, do you have to wear them for all movements?

Of course not. For example, if you bench press, lift a dumbbell or whatever, it is unlikely to cause a knee injury at all.

The knee is the joint between the large and small legs. The main internal structures are the meniscus and the four ligaments, and the simple construction results in a relatively weak knee joint.

The cartilage tissue, especially the meniscus, is highly susceptible to injury during exercise, especially during heavy weight training such as squats or hard pulls.

The knee joint is under great stress during the completion of these movements, and without the protection of protective gear, the body movements are easily deformed.

When performed with the correct posture and at the right intensity, they can help you to exercise the lower limb muscles, but with the wrong posture and excessive training, the high local pressure can easily cause discomfort to the joints and even damage to the cartilage tissue, leading to inflammation.

Wearing a gym knee brace can go some way to protecting your knee joints and ensuring that your workouts are done correctly.

In addition to basic protection, knee pads also serve another purpose, which is to help you through the transition period of impacting heavier weights.

Anyone who works out knows that after a certain stage of strength training, you tend to build your muscles better by increasing the weight, and it takes a process to hit the next stage, it's not like you get up from a nap and the hard pulling weight immediately goes from 50kg to 60kg.

This is obviously not possible, no one's body can push its limits overnight and the transition period in between requires the use of gym braces.

All in all, there are certain exercises that require knee pads, and if you use them for the right occasion and in the right place, they are an armour to protect your body.
